  • Is this thing on?

Just checking......are any of the Crutchfield family still reading Xanga??  I check it at least once a week, but that's about it.  Not a lot to write about...unless you want to hear about my progress toward my degree completion.  HA!  Since you asked....I think I can see light at the end of the tunnel!!  My program will be complete sometime early November.....I will still need to complete 25 more hours to get that little piece of paper that I'm striving for, but I can do that with testing and five week electives.  My plan is to walk in commencement in May.  Then, who knows......I honestly do not have plans for getting a Masters degree, but never say never.  Who knows....how does Dr. Headrick sound!?!  HAHAHAHAHAHA!!

Jessi is still loving her job this summer at Deer Run Retreat Center.  She came home this weekend, and we loved seeing her.  She's planning to go to Texas with us in a few weeks, but will have to go back to work for about two more weeks after that.  She's not ready to come home yet....could it be because of a certain young man named Jacob??   HA!

Cyndi and Jayson are going to have a home built!! WOOHOO!!  It is going to be fabulous!  We spent yesterday with them, looking at lots and such.  I can't wait for them to be homeowners!  They are doing great....Cyndi is in the midst of her pursuit of a Master's degree in teaching and Jayson will be student teaching in the fall.  They are busy people.

Steve is doing well.  Just working, working, and working some more!!  He's a saint for putting up with my crazy schedule of work, school, and homework.  He's a good fella!

Ok...we're going to see mother for a bit tonight.  Just wanted to write for a minute.  Hope everyone is well.

    Love you all!!

  • EDIT*****

    Happy Birthday, Kevin!!!

    Hello all!

Well, Thanksgiving has come and gone.  It sure was a good day.  We ate lots of wonderful food and spent it with our wonderful family!  We ended the day by going to the movies with the kids.  That was a lot of fun!  Yesterday, Cyndi and I were the only ones brave enough to get out for Black Friday shopping.  I left home at 4:25 a.m. with the intention of being at Cyndi's apartment at 4:45.  Unfortunately, those plans changed rather quickly when I came upon the Haywood Lane exit on I-24 at approximately 4:40 a.m.  Someone lost their life in a terrible accident just minutes before I got to that point.  Traffic came to a screaching halt and there I sat for an hour waiting.  There's nothing like sitting on a dark interstate, with people walking around wondering what has happened up ahead, feeling totally helpless.  After that hour wait, the TDOT truck came and had us all turn around completely on the interstate and drive back in the opposite direction to the Bell Road exit.  The interstate was closed for hours.  ANYWAY, I arrived at Cyndi's at 6:00 with breakfast in hand.  We got to Target at about 6:15, and our morning of shopping commenced.  Target, Walmart, Kohls & Opry Mills were our destinations of choice.  Kohls was a disaster, so we left there quickly, but everything else was great!! I still have many shopping trips left to do, but it was a good start! We have enjoyed having Jessi home for the holiday, even if she has been sick, bless her heart!  She came home on Monday evening with a fever.  This week has included lots of coughing.  But, we've watched a lot of movies and are starting to get in the Christmas spirit.  We're getting ready (at this moment) to get out and do some more shopping, so I must go for now.  Hope you all are doing GREAT!!  I would love to hear from you all!  COMMENT!

  • How is everybody doing?  It has been a while since I actually posted a blog, so while I have a few minutes I thought I'd chat a bit.

Today has been a beautiful, almost fall-like day!!  Steve and I went to our town's festival, otherwise known as Old Timer's Day.  WOW...it has grown over the past 25 years.  The parade was probably three times the length it was the last time we attended.  The actual "fair" was held inside the city park.  There were booths everywhere!  Lots of churches, schools, and local businesses represented there. There was also lots of food and craft booths.  We watched a group of senior citizens square dancing on the main stage....that was a hoot!   Although our town has grown, it still has that small town feel to it.  Anyway, we had a good time!  This afternoon, Jessi and I shopped a little bit and that was fun.  Right now, Steve and I are watching our Volunteers get spanked by the Florida Gators.  OUCH!  Not a pretty game for us.  We are at this moment waiting on our pizza to be delivered.  YUM.  Not exactly healthy or low carb, but oh well.....we sure walked a lot today, so maybe that will make up for some of it.

School is going well.  I just finished another elective course....Energy & Environment.  I had my big presentation this past Thursday night.  Whew...glad that's over!  I SHOULD have another A.  Now, I'm up to 50 credit hours.  I am working hard to get that degree done in less than two years.  You think I can?

Ok...gotta go look for that pizza delivery guy.  Let me know if anybody actually read my ramblings!

    Love you all!
